The doll shawl

Hello! Today our subject is the doll's new shawl. I would like to say that I made it, but I didn't; my mom did. She did an awesome job too. :) It's a really good size and color for the dolls, and they are very happy with it, as I am.

The day after...

"Doll Fashion week was really fun, wasn't it Kirsten?" Samantha asked. "We should do that again next week."

"That's it, I'm outta here." Josefina said as she scurried to the door, Kaya following in hopes of getting her to change her mind.

See you soon! :)

Doll fashion week, day 7

Well, today is the last day of doll fashion. I hope all of you have enjoyed it as much as I have!
Today Josefina is wearing a pink dress that I made for my sister out of a baby dress.
As I was taking the photo, Josefina smiled and smoothed her dress. "I'm glad I don't have to wear floral shorts this time." she said.
"Um... me too." I agreed.
"I don't think the dress stands out very well against this black background though. (this was before she got a silver background.) Do you have anything else?"
After rooting through my fabric, I finally came across the fabric that is the current background. Josefina was very pleased with it. I paused, waiting for any complaints. "You can go ahead." she said.
I breathed a sigh of relief. Compliant dolls are a lot easier to photograph.

Doll fashion week, day 6

Today Kaya is our participant. Her shirt is made of the some pair of shorts as Kit's, and the raglan sleeves are made from scraps of a denim skirt. I made her shorts out of the pockets of a pair of jeans, and the waistband (not shown) out of white broadcloth.

I made her shoes out of the remains of a pair of jeans, and white broadcloth. I think they turned out really well!

Doll fashion week day 5!

Today Kirsten is wearing a dress that I have just finished recently. It is made from some extra fabric from a quilt, and no pattern was used. I made it in two pieces (a shirt and a skirt) so that it can be used in many different outfits.

Kirsten's cargo... a cat, a scrapbook, and googles... :D

Doll fashion week, day 4

Today is day 4 of doll fashion week! Today Josefina is our model. Before I could start taking pictures, Josefina started complaining.
"Hey how come I have to wear this outfit?"
I didn't know, and told her so. "What's the matter with it?" I asked.
"It's the shorts. I'm embarrassed to wear them."
"Why?" I asked, somewhat offended. I had just made those the other day, and I liked them.
"Because the shorts you made these out of were rejected by a five-year old. Think about it, I'm wearing shorts that a small child wouldn't."
"Can I just take your picture anyway?"
"Hey, how come you get a blog, and get to post pictures of us in outfits we don't like, and we aren't allowed to post pictures of you at all on our blogs? Think of what my internet friends are going to think if I dress like this!"
I privately wondered what internet friends Josefina had. "You... don't have a blog." I pointed out.
"So?" She asked.
"Josefina I'm going to get Kit to wear this."
She finally consented after that, it was better to be on my blog in floral shorts than not at all.

Of course she did make me let her pet turtle be in the pictures too, but that's another story....

Doll fashion week, day 3

Today Samantha is wearing a pair of pink sweat pants I made from a pair of shorts, and her sandals are red foam. Sorry for the short post, it's been a stressful day.

Doll fashion week, day 2

Welcome to the second day of doll fashion week! Today Kit is wearing her new t-shirt, which is made without a pattern from a pair of shorts. It was pretty easy, and I still have half of a pair of shorts left. :)
